Candle Care

A beautiful candle deserves a beautiful burn. Proper care helps your Dazéy candle burn more evenly, perform better, and create the atmosphere it was made to deliver.

Before Every Burn

Trim the wick to approximately ¼ inch before lighting your candle.

A properly trimmed wick helps reduce excessive flame height, soot, smoke, and uneven burning. Remove all wick trimmings and debris before lighting.

The First Burn

The first burn sets the foundation for the life of your candle.

Allow the melted wax to reach close to the edges of the vessel before extinguishing the flame. This may take approximately two to four hours, depending on the candle.

Extinguishing the candle too soon may cause tunneling, which leaves unused wax around the sides of the vessel.

Burn Time

Do not burn your candle for more than four hours at a time.

Allow the candle and vessel to cool completely before trimming the wick, touching the container, or lighting it again.

Safe Placement

Always place your candle on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface.

Keep burning candles away from:

  • Children and pets

  • Curtains and fabrics

  • Drafts, fans, vents, and open windows

  • Paper and other flammable materials

  • Shelves, cabinets, or objects directly above the flame

Never move a burning candle or touch the vessel while the wax is liquid or the container is hot.

Never Leave a Candle Unattended

Always burn candles within sight.

Extinguish the candle before leaving the room, going to sleep, or leaving your home. Never use a candle as a night-light.

When to Stop Burning

Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.

Burning a candle beyond this point may cause the container to overheat.

Extinguishing Your Candle

Use a candle snuffer when possible. If one is unavailable, gently blow out the flame.

Never use water to extinguish a candle. Water can cause hot wax to splatter and may damage or break the vessel.

Allow the wick to cool before trimming it for the next use.

Wax Melt Care

Place wax melts only in a warmer specifically designed for wax products.

  • Follow the instructions provided with your warmer.

  • Do not add water to the wax.

  • Do not place the warmer near flammable materials.

  • Never leave a warmer unattended.

  • Keep warm wax and warming devices away from children and pets.

  • Do not move the warmer while the wax is hot or liquid.

The strength and duration of the fragrance will vary depending on the warmer, room size, airflow, and amount of wax used.

Storing Your Products

Store candles and wax melts in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Natural wax may change slightly in appearance over time or with temperature changes. These variations do not necessarily affect the candle’s performance.
